If you are a club, association or Boy Scout Troop, read on to learn more about our club membership opportunities.By joining Tread Lightly! as a member, your club, association, or troop is expressing its commitment to environmental responsibility and helping protect access for your recreational pursuits. Nearly 90 cents of each dollar donated directly benefit our award- winning educational and training programs.

As a member club of Tread Lightly!, not only are you helping educate your members on minimum impact principles and keeping the great outdoors beautiful, healthy, and open to the public, but you also receive quite a few benefits. One of our newest benefits for member clubs is eligibility to apply for a grant of up to $500 to organize a clean-up or trail maintenance project. Learn more about membership benefits here.

Tread Lightly!® is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to promote responsible outdoor recreation through ethics education and stewardship. The organization was launched in 1985 by the US Forest Service and became a nonprofit organization in 1990. Tread Lightly!’s educational message, along with its training and restoration initiatives, are strategically designed to instill an ethic of responsibility in a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts and the industries that serve them. The program’s goal is to balance the needs of the people who enjoy outdoor recreation with our need to maintain a healthy environment.
