Did you know that National Public Lands Day is coming up?
This year National Public Lands Day in on September 28, 2013. National Public Lands Day is the nations largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands.
This day helps educate Americans about the environment and natural resources, and the need for shared stewardship of these valued, irreplaceable lands. It’s a good way for the community to come together for a cause that will effect everyone. The main goal of National Public Lands Day is to improve public lands for outdoor recreation, with volunteers assisting land managers in hands-on work.
Volunteers partake in such activities as building trails, removing graffiti, picking up trash, building fences, removing invasive species and building new campsites. That’s just some of what the events in Utah are offering, think how much impact this day will have for the Nation!
